Child Balloon Experiments
There's been a rubber on the NAUCK channel, which we created together with the Science Channel 2.0. Together with me, Anton Voicekhovsky, the author and the leading EXperiments programme are under the rubric.
We started with liquid nitrogen as the most interesting and yet mature component for many experiences. For experiments, we filled Duar's vessel with liquid nitrogen, took a few plastic bottles, a garden plastic barrel and 5,000 pounds for a table tennis. And with all that wicked scarb out of the yard.
We wanted to find out.
- How long will the plastic bottle be ripped if it's filled with liquid nitrogen and close the roof tightly?
- Where does the bottle break: the throat or the body of the bottle itself?
- What bottle will break faster: filled with liquid nitrogen by half or quarter?
- What if a bottle of liquid nitrogen is to open a barrel?
- What happens if you put a bottle of liquid nitrogen in the barrel and put tennis balls in?
In four hours, all the questions asked were answered. And then I'll take a little video about it.
Pilot No. 1: liquid nitrogen and plastic bottle
Some 200 ml of liquid nitrogen was poured into a plastic bottle from under mineral water, and the sample was tightened. The bottle broke in about four minutes. There were three identical experiments, time ranged from 3:40 to 4:00. The variances between the experiences were probably due to different nitrogen levels and time differences, between nitrogen pouring and capping.
Pilot No. 2: two plastic bottles and different quantities of liquid nitrogen in each
In two identical plastic bottles, different quantities of liquid nitrogen were filled. The first was about half, the second was a fifth.
The bottle with a lot of liquid nitrogen broke faster, but not much. The second exploded in just a few seconds. Maybe the other one rushed the explosion from the first bottle.
Experiment No. 3: plastic bottle with liquid nitrogen and garden barrel above
As in the first experiment, we filled a bottle of liquid nitrogen with a roof and a garden plastic bar.As a result of the blast of the bottle, the barrel jumped upwards and took off a few dozen centimeters of land. The barrel is pretty heavy.
In the future, it will be possible to try to make a potato barrel in the form of a missile, brush its scotch (as one of our viewers advised) and try to launch the design upstream.
Experiment No. 4: plastic bottle with liquid nitrogen, barrel and 5,000 ping-pong balls
They put a bottle of liquid nitrogen in the garden barrel and put all the glasses on the table tennis.Because the bottle was in and around the barrel, the time before the break was more than doubled to about 9 minutes. The experiment was conducted twice in a row. In the first case, we put the bottle on the bottom of the barrels, and in the second one we put it. This influenced the height of the barrel:
- standing bottle in a barrel - 1 metre;
- I got a bed bottle in a barrel, three meters.
In one of our past posts, we've shown a video of this kind of experiment we haven't made. There's a barrel ripped. But now we can safely say why the barrel came from a delicate plastic. And the time before the explosion last time was a lot more than 15 minutes. I'm insinuating that the time between filling the bottle with liquid nitrogen and closing the lid was sufficient for the bottle to cool and the nitrogen to stop so much boiling (from liquid to gaseous).
If anyone has interesting ideas about experiments for this sort of story, please leave them in the comments!
